Are you looking for a great online course registration software to help automate and manage your classes and program? If so, you’ve come to the right place!
Finding a software option that will allow you to collect online registration information, manage participants, and collect online payments can feel overwhelming. Which features do you need? Which can you live without?
Below we’ll break down the similarities and differences between Regpack and CourseStorm. Both software providers offer online class registration with integrated payments and reporting tools to help manage your next class or course effortlessly!
Compare Pricing
Chances are, one of the first things that you’ll consider when choosing a registration software is the price. Regpack and CourseStorm are a little difficult to compare in terms of cost because they operate on very different pricing structures.
Regpack is based on tiers. This means you are paying different amounts based on how many people you need to register. This is good news for smaller organizations that can get all of the services that larger organizations get without paying as much. In short, the pricing scales. The pricing is also transparent on the Regpack website.
The lowest Regpack price tier is $89/month for organizations with up to 2,000 applicants. Organizations that want to have multiple administrators do need to pay for additional profiles however Regpack’s annual plan provides unlimited assistant and view only admins for free. Regpack also offers a month to month option.
CourseStorm works a bit differently. Rather than charging subscription fees, CourseStorm takes 4% from all credit card transactions. In addition, they charge a variable fee on each registration, around $1.99 on top of the credit card processing fee. There is also a subscription-based option for courses that don’t have a payment associated, but interested organizations need to contact CourseStorm for more pricing information as they don’t make that number public.
The good news about CourseStorm’s pricing structure is similar to that of Regpack’s: smaller organizations don’t get charged as much.
Online Payments
Both Regpack and CourseStorm off integrated online payments, including the ability to save a card on file and payment plans for participants. Instead of chasing down a client for every time they have another installment due, the software will do the work for you and charge according to the plan on file.
Regpack offers both credit card and ACH or eCheck payments. eChecks allow a user to pay with their bank account or by electronic check. The more payment options you offer, the more likely you will get paid!
Forms
No matter what your organization does, there will be forms. Naturally, both Regpack and CourseStorm offer tools and services to help organizations create the forms that they need but once again, they handle this service differently.
CourseStorm makes it easy for clients and customers to register for courses with a basic form. There are also some options for customizing forms to meet specific needs.
Regpack takes that idea and reverses. Regpack still offers form customization but it also offers a suite of form templates for a number of common registration needs.
That’s great for organizations that want to offer more than just courses. When it comes to forms, surveys, and questionnaires, Regpack gives admins the ability to create and build any form needed for their program.
Regpack also works off of conditional logic, a special kind of coding method that means that customers and clients don’t need to answer questions that don’t apply to them. That makes things easier for customers who have fewer irrelevant questions to answer and easier for administrators who have fewer irrelevant responses to sort through.
CourseStorm does have one cool feature in this category that Regpack doesn’t, namely a library of royalty-free images that can be used to create more engaging documents, emails, and more.
Top Class Registration Features
Regpack, but not CourseStorm, offers payment protection. This protects companies as well as registrants in the event that a registrant pays for a class or event and then needs to cancel. CourseStorm doesn’t advertise similar protection.
Regpack is also proud to advertise a service called “embedded registration.” This tool allows users to post a single line of code on their website that will allow registrants to interact with the forms that they need from Regpack without leaving the site. No being transferred to a different website, no need to download and fill out forms. This makes it easy for registrants to do what they need to do and, because Regpack sends the line of code, it isn’t any trouble at all for the user.
Both services offer reporting functionality. CourseStorm allows you to download reports to Excel with your data. Regpack provides the same service, with the added download option in PDF, and the ability to create customized reports in the system.
Both services also offer robust data and payment security, email marketing tools and group registration that allows families or groups to register seamlessly.
So Which is Right for You?
We can’t answer that for you. All organizations have different needs and Regpack and CourseStorm both offer different services and in different ways. Which one fits your needs in terms of pricing structure, services, and other factors, depends on your organization.
Hopefully now you have all of the information that you need to make the choice between Regpack and CourseStorm or to keep looking for a service that better fits the needs of your organization.
